Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream - The Big Game

Jonas kloner i Sonny with a chance (med i slutet)

Handling (engelska);
Chad is filming a movie about his life: The Chad Dylan Cooper Story. Chad decides to have the real So Random! cast to play their parts except for Sonny because he thinks she has diva personality and is difficult to work with. So, he decides to hire Selena Gomez to play the part instead. Selena sees that Chad and Sonny like each other, but when they both deny it, she uses reverse psychology to get them to admit that they do. Sonny admits she thinks Chad has sparkly eyes and Chad admits he thinks Sonny has pretty hair. In the end, Selena leaves with anger, saying that they are perfect for each other and she doesn't have to do Chad's movie because she was in Camp Hip Hop (A parody of Camp Rock). Chad then gives Sonny the part. When the movie premieres, they choose to watch "Camp Hip Hop" instead, complete with fake Jonas Brothers and their bodyguard, Big Rob.

Joe Jonas Wants To Be Kevin's Best Man

Joe Jonas Wants To Be Kevin's Best Man, But Where Does That Leave The Rest Of The Brothers?

Although there's still some time before Kevin Jonas and his fiancée, Danielle Deleasa, head down the aisle, it doesn't mean the other Jonas Brothers aren't scrambling to get picked to be the oldest JoBro's best man.

"I want it," Joe recently told Kiss108 FM. "I'll be the best best man ever," but he added that he, as well as Nick and their little brother Frankie, are "cool" with whomever Kevin decides to be at his side on his big day.

Joe's open campaign for the job, got us to wondering, what it would look like if he did get picked by Nick:

However, Joe did reveal that it doesn't really matter who gets picked since there's enough combonations of best-men/grooms to go around. "Eventually if I get married, [the best man is] gonna be Nick, and when it's Nick, [the best man] gonna be Frankie."

Our imaginations kept on wondering, so here's what it would look like if Nick were the best man in Joe's wedding:

And if Frankie were the best man in Nick's wedding:

That only leaves one Jonas to stand up for Frankie, so Kevin, you're the guy!

What do you think about the Jonas Brother's best man flow chart?

While Fiona is happy with the boost to her career, Joe enlists Kevin, Nick, Stella (Staub) and Macy (Anderson) to break-up the fictional relationship.

"Frantic Romantic" premieres Sunday, August 16 @ 8:30PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.

Since being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 13, the pop super star who tests his blood sugar more than ten times a day, has made a personal commitment to raise awareness about juvenile diabetes. In June, he testified before

Congress to call for support of diabetes research funding. He wrote the song "A Little Bit Longer" to inspire those with diabetes to live their lives to the fullest. Together with his brothers Kevin and Joe, Nick founded the Jonas Brothers' Change for the Children Foundation to support programs that motivate children to face adversity and one of their causes is to raise money and awareness for various diabetes programs.

As a diabetes ambassador with Bayer Diabetes Care, Jonas has launched a national awareness campaign to provide young people and their families with motivation and support to simplify life with the disease. "Nick's Simple Wins" website (www.NicksSimpleWins.com) helps inspire young people with diabetes to achieve small, everyday victories while managing their disease. Nick and Bayer created dog tags as a symbol of support for people with diabetes, increase awareness about the disease and raise money for his foundation.

Jonas Brothers Way of Sucess

The Jonas Brothers are on the phone and getting a little testy about a line of questioning regarding the jump in ticket prices for the current tour from $47.50 to $89.50.

Kevin, the oldest JoBro at 21, is explaining a theater-in-the-round stage concept he helped design that makes the front rows stretch the whole length of the arena.

"OK," the reporter in the teleconference says. "But how do you explain the ticket price in this economy?"

"I think essentially," Nick, 16, jumps in, "we wanted to find a way to provide a bigger and better show for our fans, and this was one of the ways we had to do so."

"OK," the reporter persists. "So you don't have any concern about the ticket price?"

Jonas Brothers
With: Jordin Sparks, The Honor Society.
Where: Mellon Arena.
When: 7 p.m. Saturday.
Tickets: Sold out.

"Sir," Nick says sternly. "I think you've asked your follow-up question. We'd like to move on. Thank you very much."

Maybe this will help clear it up. It takes a team of 180 people - 80 traveling with the tour and 100 locally - up to 10 hours to construct the 140-foot-long stage, which travels in 19 trucks. There are 13 buses for the backing band and crew, and the Jonases are traveling with their parents on a leased 767.

There's your $89.50.

Brothers Breakin' out

Two years ago, the Jonas Brothers - a nearly self-contained group more akin to Hanson than ‘N Sync - were playing the Palace Theatre and a year before that, the Rex Theatre on the South Side.

Things weren't looking so good then. The three musical brothers from New Jersey, originally a solo project for Nick, were signed to Columbia Records in 2005, released a delayed debut album in 2006 and were summarily dropped by the label in 2007.

Bad move, Columbia.

Hollywood Records picked up the JoBros and hitched them to Hannah Montana's rising star, with an appearance on her TV show and an opening slot on her tour.

"I think the Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus tour being our first arena tour was a big learning experience for us," says Nick, who doubles as Cyrus' boyfriend. "It kind of showed us that you really have to play to the last person in the arena and make them feel just as much as part of a show as the person in the front row."

It won them a legion of screaming teen and tween fans, contributing to the breakout success of a self-titled second album, which is close to double platinum, and last year's follow-up, "A Little Bit Longer," which moved 1.5 million and actually won the group critical acclaim, including four-star reviews from Rolling Stone and Blender.

The past year has been huge for the Jonas Brothers, starting with the "Camp Rock" movie, the sold-out "Burning Up" tour, an American Music Award, two MTV Video Music Awards and a Best New Artist nomination. They lost that to Adele but won the night by getting to share the stage with Stevie Wonder.

"I think for us, the win was in performance," Nick says. "Performing with Stevie Wonder was an experience that we'll never forget, and we're very thankful. We know that we're young guys and that that was really, truly an honor and we're so thankful to him and his team for making it happen."

The past year has also brought a performance at the White House, a 3-D concert film that grossed a so-so $19 million and a Monkees-like Disney sitcom "JONAS," which drew 4 million viewers for its premiere in May.

Getting parodied on "South Park" for the purity rings was another sign that the boys had arrived.

"I think we always like to, you know, be open to make fun of ourselves you know we'll be the first to," Nick says, in response to that. "We did it on ‘SNL' and it was kind of fun."

Brothers branching out

The tour that brings the Jonas trio to the Mellon Arena Saturday coincides with the release of a "Lines, Vines and Trying Times," a fourth album that takes a few more chances, as bands have to do at this stage.

"I wouldn't say it's a big jump, but it definitely is a progression in our music and a growth for us," says 19-year-old frontman Joe. "It has a lot of more kind of horns and a lot more strings. Also there's more to the music rather than just a typical kind of relationship song."

Partial inspiration came from an unlikely 68-year-old source.

"During the Grammy season," Nick says, "we had the honor of being able to perform one of Neil Diamond's songs, ‘Forever in Blue Jeans.' And we were sitting in the audience watching people play all of his songs and really realizing how amazing his career has been and being inspired by his band and all that he's done. So we tried to infuse that in some of our sounds as well and there's some bands out of the U.K., the Zutons, who are really excellent and also I think we can all agree that the new Kings of Leon record is fantastic. So you know we're just trying to grow and continue to learn and have fun.

"The songs that are on the new album are all things that we've really gone through, you know, personal experiences, that's where we get all our inspiration from," Nick adds. "But also we've been working on trying to use metaphors, in a way, to kind of mask a literal thing that happened to us. I think that, personally, Elvis Costello is excellent at doing that. And listening to his music and trying to do our best to imitate that gift that he has of being able to tell a story with using metaphors, I think is so, so cool, and we're working on that."

Interviews with Nick Jonas repeatedly come around to Elvis Costello, a name that Justin Timberlake, Nick Carter and Taylor Hanson never would have dropped. Nick and Costello even did an interview together for Rolling Stone.

That's not to say that Elvis fans should run out and buy "Lines, Vines and Trying Times" or even expect any morsel of it to sound like him. (He might be saving that for later.) As the recent Rolling Stone cover story noted, the Jonases occupy "an enormous gray area" between teen-pop like ‘N Sync and contemporary rock bands like The Fray.

"Don't Speak" is a stab at a song in the U2/Coldplay vein. "World War III" has more of Prince's stamp. "Poison Ivy" has been rightly described as kind of "Weezer-ish" and "Don't Charge Me for the Crime" is an urban foray with rapper Common that isn't going to convince anyone that the Jonases are ghetto.

"We know we're young guys and we're on a musical journey, so it's much in the process," Joe says. "You know people's perception of who we are as musicians and songwriting and things is not so much the issue, it's just about us being able to learn so that you know our work can show who we are."

How long that lasts is anyone's guess. The Backstreet Boys had about six years at the top, ‘N Sync more like five and Hanson just three.

"We're doing what we love and we know that our fans will grow up with us," Nick says. "And although this has been said before, we believe in our fans and believe in their commitment and their, you know, loyalty to us, and we appreciate that. And we're just so thankful that we've been given these opportunities and we're going to enjoy every moment of it."

While the three brothers progress, trying to avoid the mistakes and internal conflicts of other teen bands, they have a tight bond between them.

"For us it's also about the family base," Nick says. "We've made that rule No. 1 from day one, that making sure that the family comes first and that we focus on that. That's the priority, and also we live by the rule: We live life if it's at the top like
we're at the bottom, which basically means stay humble and keep the right attitude.

"A lot of people are surprised that we do get along and we are each other's best friends. It kind of makes us laugh because you know a brothers do fight and things, but we just really don't have the time."

Jonas Brothers doing musical chairs blindfolded (on Ellens show)

Joe and Camilla are done(?)

It's official: Joe Jonas and Camilla Belle have broken up. "Yes, it's true, they have broken up," Brad Cafarelli, Belle's rep, confirmed Monday. "There is no third party involved and they care deeply about each other and will remain friends."

The 19-year-old rock star, known for his energetic performances, was reportedly visibly saddened during a Jonas Brothers concert in Detroit last night, especially when he sang "Much Better," a song he penned after he began dating Belle, 22, last fall.

The song is about a girlfriend who is "much better" than a previous girlfriend. The song is widely believed to be a dig at Taylor Swift, who very publicly dissed Jonas after he broke up with her.

Though neither Jonas or Belle ever confirmed that they were dating, Jonas was often seen going out to lunch with the
10,000 B.C. actress. The two met last September while filming the Jonas Brothers' music video "Lovebug." Jonas broke up with Swift soon after meeting Belle but made it clear in a blog on the Jonas Brothers' MySpace page, that he never cheated on anyone.

Jonas is currently in the middle of the Jonas Brothers World Tour, while Belle is filming Father of Invention with Kevin Spacey.

New update on Nick's Simple Wins (July)

Hello from somewhere in the United States. I hope your summers are off to a great start! We've been very busy with the launch and promotion of our new CD "Lines, Vines and Trying Times", and of course the North American Leg of our world tour. It has been great seeing all of you in the different cities thus far.

In June, I had the honor of being part of the Children's Congress and testifying before a Senate committee on Capitol Hill about diabetes. It is important to let people know how vital it is to get funding for the research we need to find a cure for diabetes. It was also an honor to not only attend but speak on behalf of so many kids with diabetes.

My new TV commercial for Bayer's CONTOUR meter also launched in June. In it I talk about one of my Simple Wins, if you haven't seen it yet, you can check it out right here on the home page.

With it being summer, I hope that many of you are taking advantage of the diabetes camps that are available. Diabetes camps are a great thing and can be very helpful in teaching tips to properly manage your diabetes. Speaking of camp, we are going to be filming Camp Rock 2 in the upcoming months. It should be fun and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again. Of course there will be some new surprises that I can't tell you about yet.

Congrats to last month's winner of Bayer's Express Your Simple Win contest.... I'm really inspired hearing about all of your Simple Wins. It is nice to see how so many people can be touched by so many different things...

My Simple Win this month - performing each night on tour

My baby got hurt (nothing dangerous)

The Jonas Brothers: No excuses

By Shay Quillen

squillen@mercurynews.com

Posted: 07/28/2009 01:11:51 PM PDT

Though at 21 he is well past the target demographic for the Jonas Brothers, oldest brother Kevin says he's happy to go to work in an arena full of screaming kids.

"I think that being part of it, witnessing it firsthand, is much better than working at Starbucks and just getting by at college," Jonas says.

He's got a point. Since being dropped from the Columbia Records roster in 2007 (nice call, guys), the band has become a force in American show business. With the help of the Disney marketing juggernaut, Kevin and his brothers Nick (16, and the band's main singer and songwriter) and Joe (19, and Taylor Swift's ex) have logged multiple Top-5 albums, stormed cinemas with a concert film (in 3-D, no less) and gotten their own sitcom on the Disney Channel, "Jonas."

They're currently on their first headlining arena world tour, which hits San Jose's HP Pavilion on Monday.

When reached by phone earlier this year, Kevin Jonas was in the midst of what seemed to be an unusually grueling period, even by this band's standards - wrapping up the first season of "Jonas" on the Disney Channel, working on the new CD "Lines, Vines and Trying Times" and preparing for the start of the world tour, which began in May.

But if you're looking for a trace of self-pity, or an admission of weariness, or even an indication that all isn't absolutely, positively perfect with the band, you came to the wrong place.

"It's a lot of fun," says Kevin, who announced his engagement to his girlfriend on July 1. "We live a great life, very exciting. We have a blast every single step of the way. We are just truly honored with the opportunity that we've been given." But what about the pressure of having so many people depending on you financially at such a young age, from your road crew to Disney stockholders? "We don't really feel pressure," he says. "We have a really great system in place and a great team in place that makes it fun everywhere we go. We know it's a machine, we know it's a big business, and we don't really look at it that way. We look at it as a great way for us to enjoy the art that we like to make, and enjoy just the excitement of making new music."

What about Disney? Do you ever want to break free from the corporate shackles?

"We were a band way before we ever did anything with Disney," he says. "It's been great. The reason we love them is

'cause they let us be who we are. They don't try to change us. They don't pressure us to be anything.

"I think that's a common misconception, and it's definitely not the way it is."

Though the transition from "tween" star to grown-up entertainer is notoriously difficult to pull off - just ask David Cassidy or Hanson - Kevin expresses no concerns about the longevity of the band.

"We never look at it as a limited thing. Hopefully we'll be around for a while, and get to do the things we love," he says. "We just like making the music that we make. It makes us super, super happy. I think our audience is growing up with us, and I think that's a really very cool thing for anyone."

Though "Lines, Vines and Trying Times" shows the band stretching out a little - a few horn and string arrangements, a guest rap by Common (on "Don't Charge Me for the Crime," a tune Entertainment Weekly memorably described as "the sonic equivalent of being held at gunpoint by a baby rabbit") - Jonas makes no apology for releasing pop music.

"We're guys that like to make fun music, music that people like," he says. "And I think for us it's just important to always keep your mind in the right place and always keep your heart in the place of making music that you love."

SayNow Message from Joe

How Kevin and Danielle really met

Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa got engaged earlier this month and now Danielle's mom is opening up about the couple.

Angela Deleasa tells Life & Style, "We met the Jonas family in 2007 when we were vacationing in the Bahamas. Everyone keeps saying they're childhood friends from Wyckoff, N.J., but it's not true. We were on the beach in the Bahamas, and the boys just came over and started talking to us. [Kevin kept in touch with Danielle.]"

As for their recent engagement, Angela says, "All I can say is that we are very happy for them. He proposed right here on our doorstep. We're just not used to this [fame]. People are coming to our door and our neighbors' doors and it's just strange... Danielle already travels a lot because Kevin likes her to be around, and I'm sure she'll be gone even more now."

Not a date, but they are planing

As millions of girls around the world shed a tear over the news of Kevin Jonas' engagement to longtime girlfriend Danielle Deleasa, Kevin's brothers expressed their excitement about adding a sister to the Jonas family.

"It's going great," Kevin told MTV News about the engagement, as his brothers excitedly gave him a hug. "No date yet - me and Dani are just working everything out and figuring everything out. We're having a good time."

"We're happy for him," Joe added. In a tweet posted by the brothers just hours after the pair's engagement news broke, Joe and Nick wrote, "Congrats big brother ... Dani welcome to the family. We can't wait to have you join us on the road! Love Joe and Nick."

Kevin, being the romantic that he is, showed up to Deleasa's New Jersey doorstep after flying overnight from a show in Toronto. He got down on one knee and asked his girlfriend of two years to marry him with a three-carat solitaire cushion-cut diamond surrounded by 210 round, brilliant-cut pavé diamonds. Kevin designed the ring himself, with help from Jacob the Jeweler.

"She said yes, yes, yes, like 500 times super fast in a row," he recalled. "It was tough performing [the night before], knowing that I was going to ask the biggest question in my life to the most amazing girl in the world," Kevin said.

"It is such a blessing that she will be joining our family. ... Family is very dear to us, and we hope we have raised Kevin to be a wonderful man and husband. Please join us in our family's celebration and in congratulating Kevin and Danielle. Thank you for all of your support," Kevin's parents, Kevin Sr. and Denise, said in a statement.

Barrington boy meets teen idol, partner in diabetes battle

A photograph, an autograph, maybe even - omg! - a hug.

Those likely topped the wish list for the lucky few who got to meet the Jonas Brothers Friday before the first of their two concerts at Rosemont's Allstate Arena.

But what Ricky Hucker really wanted was to show Nick Jonas his insulin pump.

This isn't mere teen idol worship for the precocious 4-year-old from Barrington. Ricky feels a kinship with the youngest Jonas because both have Type I diabetes. Ricky almost seems to enjoy the fact the two have that in common.

His father, Rick, won four tickets and the chance to meet the band in an online auction benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Afterward, Rick said all the Jonas Brothers were "very nice." And sure enough, Nick proved especially attentive upon learning of Ricky's diabetes, kneeling to talk to him and pose for an extra photo.

Nick's positive influence on kids with diabetes "has been huge," said the foundations' Jill Gonyea. "The fact that he's been open about it makes it so much easier for kids to be open about it when all they want to do at that age is be like everyone else."

The elder Hucker admitted he was "a little embarrassed" about how much he spent for the tickets - $3,000. But he said the family has become active in foundation causes since Ricky's diagnosis at age 3, and probably would've donated a similar amount, anyway, given how much advances in insulin delivery and monitoring have helped Ricky manage the condition. With his pump, for example, the number of shots he needs has decreased from several every day to a few a week.

Not to mention that the money meant Rick and wife Dympna could provide a special treat to their kids. Daughters Lizzie, 10, and Rachel, 6, are pretty big Jonas Brothers fans, too - even if they don't have diabetes.

And the family reaction to the concert? "Awesome," reported Rick, who, as the fifth member of the group, was relegated to chauffeur duty.

Nick with Washington Nationals to Support Children with Diabetes

Washington, DC (Vocus/PRWEB ) July 9, 2009 - Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers has lent his star power to the Washington Nationals to raise awareness of diabetes and support the creation of a new Pediatric Diabetes Care Complex at Children's National Medical Center in the nation's capital. In a new PSA aired at the Washington Nationals game July 5, 16-year-old Jonas, who has Type 1 diabetes, encouraged fans to "text to give" to support children with diabetes. For each person who texts the word "NATS" to 90999, a $5 donation to Children's National Medical Center is billed to the donor's phone bill. The PSA appears on the Children's National website at http://tinyurl.com/jonas-text.

Approximately 20 million Americans, including a growing number of children, have been diagnosed with diabetes. Children with diabetes, if it is not managed appropriately, are at risk of developing serious health complications, such as heart disease, kidney disease, blindness, stroke, and loss of circulation resulting in amputation of limbs. There is no cure for diabetes; it is a 24-hour-a-day disease requiring intervention, monitoring, and balancing food choices to maintain a child's health.

The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation has committed $2 million toward the new Pediatric Diabetes Care Complex at Children's National, and all text donations will help reach the $5 million needed for the complex.

About Children's National Medical Center
Children's National Medical Center, located in Washington, D.C., is a proven leader in the development of innovative new treatments for childhood illness and injury. Children's has been serving the nation's children for nearly 140 years. Children's National is ranked among the best pediatric hospitals in America by US News & World Report and the Leapfrog Group. Nick and Joe destroyed a hotelroom

The Jonas Brothers have ruled out a return to a top London hotel - after they wrecked their room during a stay.

The sibling trio were in the U.K. capital for a gig recently and stayed at an unnamed hotel during their time in the city. And the two youngest brothers, Joe, 19, and 16 year old Nick, wasted no time in tearing up their suite.

Elder brother Kevin Jonas says, "Joe and Nick broke the floorboards of a room in London once by practicing their flips. They moved the coffee table over the top of the hole in the floor. We're probably not going to go back there!"

Celebrating the engagament (with pizza)

Kevin Jonas and fiancee Danielle Deleasa celebrate their engagement at their favorite pizza parlor in Los Angeles on Friday night (July 3).

The newly engaged couple was joined by 30 of their closest friends and family including the other Jonas Brothers, Joe and Nick.

On Wednesday, Kevin proposed to Danielle at her doorstep in New Jersey with a diamond ring (3-carat solitaire cushion-cut diamond, surrounded by 210 round brilliant-cut pave diamonds).

Jonas Brothers Favourite Music (Why I Love...)

Why I love... Brad Paisley, by Kevin Jonas
"I'm a huge country music fan, always have been, and American Saturday Night is an incredible record. Most of his records have a feeling of old country, but then you get the taste of the new-and the new is definitely progressive. This record really takes leaps and bounds; there are blues songs on there, there are a couple of piano songs, there's a four-piece string and jug band... So there's an eclectic sound, but the storytelling and the songs are incredible."

Why I love... The Zutons, by Nick Jonas

"We were over in Europe touring with Avril Lavigne last year, and their album had just been released. We were jet-lagged, falling asleep. We had the TV on, it was a music special, and the Zutons were playing live in a studio-and they were just incredible. The album really inspired the sound for our next record, because of the girl who plays sax. It was one of those things where it was kind of...off? But it was great. I think the kind of late-'60s rock sound they have going on really is awesome, the vocal sound is great. For top picks, there's a song called ‘Bumbag,' which is great. ‘What's Your Problem?' and ‘Little Red Door.' You Can Do Anything is definitely one of my favorite records, ever."

Why I love... Green Day, by Joe Jonas

"I definitely thought it was going to be really hard to top the last Green Day album, 'cause American Idiot was so massive, you know? But 21st Century Breakdown is really consistent. It's not so political; I mean, there's small things in there, but generally it's way less so. Like, ‘Know Your Enemy' could be the guy at the 7-Eleven who you just can't stand. As songwriters, we don't like to get into too much politics. But some bands do it well, and Green Day is one of those bands." Kevin: "And remember that kids are going to be listening to it." Nick: "That's the thing: Our little brother's eight years old and he loves Green Day. He just thinks they're awesome. They're this generation's rock band."

Time Out New York

Jonas Brothers plan your week! (Interview)

So why did we do it? Why did Time Out New York invite the world's most prominent boy band to edit our Music section? Is this some kind of joke?

Well, no. We invited the Jonas Brothers to TONY because we wanted to see how they (and you) would respond to being taken seriously. Having read some of the million-odd interviews floating around Planet Media, we always noticed moments-between questions about Nick Jonas's relationship with Miley Cyrus, the boys' vows of chastity and so on-in which the brothers lit up when asked about music.

Even if you're oblivious to the JoBros' four albums (the new one, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, entered the charts at No. 1), you may have caught Nick's encounter with his hero Elvis Costello in the pages of Rolling Stone-Costello described the 16-year-old as "thoughtful and curious"-or watched the JBs sing with Stevie Wonder at the Grammys, during which Nick got so nervous he forgot the words to "Superstition" ("Poor Nick," wrote one Jonas fan on YouTube, "he fully, like, shit himself.")

Our premise was simple: The boys (from Wyckoff, New Jersey) would lead the Music team in an editorial meeting, choosing the shows and records that would make up this week's section. The reality, of course, is far more complex and surreal. We send them a slew of CDs and release dates a week earlier. And two hours before the boys were to set foot in the office (arriving straight from a Letterman taping), a huge, handsome FBI-type security man checks out the building. Stylists arrive, the rider arrives, more security arrives. Even Big Rob, the JB's plus-size rapper and bodyguard, is here. A publicist ushers our writers into our conference room, and there-tanned and visibly tired-are the Jonas Brothers: curly Kevin, the eldest at 21; Joe, the 19-year-old, heavy-browed middle Jonas (star of Camp Rock); and Nick, the youngest Jonas and the band's principal songwriter.

"Hello, sir," Nick says to Music editor Steve Smith, standing up to shake his hand. This is your section this week, we tell the boys. "Cool," Kevin nods. Then it's down to business.

What they want from their TONY music section

"I think the important thing, especially in New York, is you always wanna know who's playing, what's happening in your area," Kevin says. "And the exciting, random events too, like the air-guitar tournaments." So you want coverage of the big shows, and also more obscure stuff? "Yeah, from-what's the up-and-rising neighborhood in Brooklyn? Umm, Williamsburg? From Williamsburg to downtown." Given that the JBs have been touring the world for about four years now, we're impressed that the nabe that spawned TV on the Radio and drunken kickball is on their radar.

Do the boys ever get to see shows? "When we're together it can be a little crazy," Joe says. "When we go separately...less so." Nick recalls being blown away by a Rolling Stones gig at Madison Square Garden four years ago. "I was probably 10 or 11," he says.

What they want from music reviews

"First you look at the number of stars," Joe says, laughing. "I think for us it's interesting when you have a guy that loves the Rolling Stones and he's reviewing a Kanye West record. You gotta get the right people to review things." In relation to the band's own oeuvre, Joe is pragmatic. "I know you can have a very eclectic field of music, but someone who loves underground hip-hop is not particularly gonna love our album." Our music editor Smith, a hip-hop lover, metalhead and unabashed Miley Cyrus fan, mildly clears his throat. Still, the Jonases are quick to admit that they do have something to learn from the critics. "Totally!" Kevin concedes. "I recently did an interview with [country star] Brad Paisley, and he said, ‘I hate it when they're right!'"

"I enjoy writing reviews," Nick says-quickly, seriously. "I do it, like, for fun." When he was being homeschooled, he explains, he wrote music, movie and TV reviews for extra credit: "There was a show called Kid Nation where they sent 50 kids out into the wilderness to try and survive. It got shut down for legal reasons-I don't know how it was ever on TV-but I was so amused by it." He pauses. "There was this kid who just drank a whole thing of, like, Clorox and... So I would write up these reviews, and hope to go to college one day to study English literature."

How they hear new music

"A lot of our friends pass bands along to us, and we check 'em out, and obviously iTunes is a big one," Joe says. "Genius sidebar!" his big brother firmly asserts. Then Nick: "I've always said that it's important as an artist to go on a musical journey and discover what you like and you don't like. And the Internet's a good way to make that happen-but also, growing up in a musical home introduced a lot of different styles to me." Ah yes, the Jonas parents: Kevin Jonas Sr., then a pastor, and his wife, Denise, were traveling musicians, and the brood spent a good deal of their early life on the road as their folks spread the word through music. Kevin remembers their dad playing them Carole King's Tapestry and getting them to listen for a bum note in one of the songs. "Like, ‘Listen to this, riiiiiiight...now!'?" Nick explains. "My dad pointed out to us that's kind of the beauty. They didn't have Pro Tools back then, but then you think about it, and the fact they kept it in keeps the song pure."

How broad are their tastes?

"If it's good, it's good," Nick says, "Rock, pop, hip-hop, whatever it is." Kevin agrees: "You can listen to a Shania Twain song produced by Mutt Lange, and then you can listen to any of his other bands and the production aspect of that is so incredible. You can't deny the power that is Mutt Lange, his vision-from power pop to heavy metal. That's a man who has an open mind to music." The band's current shared obsession is the Zutons (see "Why I love ..." later in this section), with Phoenix ("impactful," Joe says) and Kings of Leon also earning the thumbs-up. "I'm also a big fan of Minneapolis funk," Nick says. "Love the funk," he affirms, smiling shyly.

So playing the Grammys with Stevie Wonder must've been pretty great then. "Oh, awesome," says Nick. "It was an amazingly cool experience." The JoBros rehearsed for three nights, Joe explains, the first night on their own, and the next two with Wonder. "And when he arrived, he left to shave and clean up," Joe recalls. "But he didn't come back for an hour or so, and we're thinking, Is something wrong? Then he came back and we played music for four hours with him." Wonder wasn't scheduled to rehearse with them the following night, but insisted. "We played [the Grammy medley] three times, but mostly it was just us playing random songs; he's like, ‘Oh, let's sing this song! I wrote it for Michael Jackson!'?" Which song? "It's called ‘No News Is Good News'?" Nick says. Joe starts singing: "No neeeeeeeeeeeeeeews..." with Kevin joining him in falsetto. Joe says it was a relief that Wonder couldn't see the incredulous looks they were shooting one another. "We were freaking out! It was pretty exciting."

"Maybe that's what Stevie was thinking, too," our music writer Jay Ruttenberg ventures.

So who are we covering this week?

Wilco makes the grade, as do Stellastarr* and reissues from the Rolling Stones and the Beastie Boys. We're intrigued, though, that the JBs choose to cover Matisyahu-in Joe's words, "a Hasidic Jew reggae guy," whom the band collectively loves. "At first you're thinking, Is this a gimmick?" Joe explains. "But he's really passionate. And live, we saw a similar energy to what we like to have onstage-where you can't control it, and you're just jumping up and down having fun." "He, like, crowd surfs," Kevin adds.

Ruttenberg frowns. People regard reggae music as having a certain spirituality, he suggests; if a white person does it, an audience wants them to be somehow "spiritual." How does this play into the way Matisyahu is received? "I think he's a spiritual person in his own right," Kevin says. "I think it's a true heart, it goes past practical religion. Compared to just, ‘I go to church, I do this and that.'?" And, Joe adds, reggae artists have a story to tell-"and he has a big story to tell, how he came into the Hasidic world." It goes back to that truism, says Kevin: Don't judge a book by its cover.

By the time a frantic publicist signals the meeting's end, it has become less easy to judge the Jonas Brothers by their teen-magazine covers. As they refer to themselves repeatedly as artists, we could only wonder how long the family act will be able to keep its members creatively fulfilled. "Me personally, I hope to do more acting," Joe says. "We've done a television show and a movie, and I think it'd be cool. Nick, he wants to do more music throughout his life. And Kevin, I think he wants to get into directing." "I like the other side of it," Kevin confirms. "I like analyzing, that whole thing."

"Our audience is growing up with us, but we're always open to having new listeners," Joe says. "Even now, people are like, ‘Oh, dude, you're at the top'-and we're like, ‘Ahhh, we just started.'?" The funny thing is, it might actually be true that these young men are just beginning to come into their own identities-something we'd like to have explored in more depth. But we've already exceeded our allotted time with the boys, and the three Jonas Brothers are whisked through the door to meet an Access Hollywood TV crew, which will accompany them to a fans-only gig at the Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza. As they leave, Nick turns around to express his gratitude: "It's always nice to have an intelligent conversation about music."

Much Better - Nick Falls?

Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (New Crew)

Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato are headed back to Camp Rock, but the sequel to last year's top-rated cable telecast will feature a new director and writer, not to mention a plot that borrows from Shakespeare.

"Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam" will begin production this summer and debut next year on Disney Channel.

The story has the characters played by Lovato and Kevin, Nick and Joe Jonas returning to their beloved Camp Rock, only to discover that some of the students and instructors have ditched it for nearby rival Camp Star.

Other major players returning for the sequel include Meaghan Jette Martin, Maria Canals-Barrera and Alyson Stoner. Daniel Fathers is back as Camp Rock's head honcho.

Joining the cast for "Final Jam" are popular hip-hop artist Matthew "Mdot" Finley and Chloe Bridges, an accomplished 17-year-old classical pianist. Mdot plays the reigning hot-shot singer across the lake at Camp Star who challenges Camp Rock to a musical showdown.

The "Romeo and Juliet" moment comes when Camp Rock's Nate (Nick Jonas) falls for Dana (Bridges), the daughter of Camp Star's owner.

Taking over helming duties from the first installment's Matthew Diamond is Paul Hoen, who directed the 2007 Disney Channel movie "Jump In!" The sequel's script was written by Dan Berendsen ("Hannah Montana The Movie") with Karin Gist and Regina Hicks, the duo who wrote "Jump In!" with Doreen Spicer. Gist and Hicks also wrote the first "Camp Rock" with Julie Brown and Paul Brown.

The original "Camp Rock" attracted an audience of 146 million in 160 nations and 30 languages, a huge hit by nearly any standard - except, maybe, compared with Disney Channel's "High School Musical," seen by 225 million worldwide.

The "Camp Rock" soundtrack has gone platinum in the U.S. and eight other territories and gold in another dozen.

Jonas Brothers Announce Special Guest, Jordin Sparks

JONAS BROTHERS ANNOUNCE SPECIAL GUEST, JORDIN SPARKS, TO PERFORM AT MONTERREY CONCERTS
Category: Music

Grammy nominated and platinum-selling artists, Jonas Brothers, today announced that R&B pop singer and 2007 American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, will be the opening act for the band's concerts in Monterrey, Mexico. Sparks will perform both shows with the Jonas Brothers at Arena Monterrey on July 31st. Due to a scheduling conflict, Demi Lovato is no longer able to join the Jonas Brothers for these engagements.

In 2007, Jordin Sparks released her self-titled debut album Jordin Sparks, which featured chart-topping singles "Tattoo" and "No Air." The 19 Recordings/Jive Records artist is now set to release her sophomore effort, Battlefield, later this month. She has worked with hit-making producers and songwriters that include Dr. Luke, fellow label-mate T-Pain, Ryan Tedder, Stargate, and others for this upcoming release.

This would not be the first time that the Jonas Brothers and Jordin Sparks are together on the same stage. Sparks is a confirmed special guest on the North American leg of the 52-date "The Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009," which kicked off in Dallas on June 20th. Sparks will also join the band for their shows in Monterrey.

Kevin Jonas surprised his girlfriend Danielle Deleasa by showing up at her doorstep in New Jersey early Wednesday morning and dropping down to his knee to ask her to marry him. Presented with a cushion-cut diamond ring that Jonas designed with Jacob & Co., Deleasa couldn't believe what was happening.

Then, "She said yes, yes, yes like 500 times super fast in a row," the oldest of the Jonas Brothers tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Jonas, 21, and Deleasa, 22, who met in May of 2007 while vacationing with their families in the Bahamas, haven't set a wedding date yet. "It still feels like a dream," she tells PEOPLE.

Overnight Flight

When Deleasa, a former hairdresser, first met Jonas two years ago, she admits, "I didn't know who the Jonas Brothers were." It was Kevin who eagerly pursued her after meeting her and then spotting her walking on the beach with a flower in her hair.

Jonas popped the question after arriving in New Jersey on an overnight flight from a concert in Vancouver. "It was tough performing last night, knowing that I was going to ask the biggest question in my life to the most amazing girl in the world," he says.

And while the news is bound to break a lot of young girls' hearts, the Jonas family couldn't be happier.

"Our hearts are filled with joy today and we are happy to share with you that our son Kevin has asked Danielle for her hand in marriage," parents Denise and Kevin Jonas Sr. say in a statement to PEOPLE. "Her answer was yes, and it is such a blessing that she will be joining our family. Kevin and Danielle have not yet set a date. Family is very dear to us, and we hope we have raised Kevin to be a wonderful man and husband. Please join us in our family's celebration and in congratulating Kevin and Danielle. Thank you for all of your support."

Hurra! För Kevin och Danielle!

Så här stod det i brevet;
Our hearts are filled with joy today and we are happy to share with you that our son Kevin has asked Danielle Deleasa for her hand in marriage. Her answer was yes and it is such a blessing that she will be joining our family. Kevin and Danielle have not yet set a date. Family is very dear to us and we hope we have raised Kevin to be a wonderful man and husband. Please join us in our families celebration and in congratulating Kevin and Danielle. Thank you for all of your support.

Det är helt underbart. Jag är bara så glad. Jag är faktiskt stolt.

Så här skrev även Nick och Joe för att välkomna Danielle in i familjen;
congrats big brother.....Dani welcome to the family, we can't wait to have you join us on the road! love Joe and Nick about 10 hours ago from mobile web

Poor Unfortunate Souls (Original and JB Cover)

Orginal versionen (snut från filmen);

Ni får även den svenska versionen;

Jonas Brothers version;

Jonas Brothers make time for fan suffering from brain tumor

A 12-year-old girl battling a brain tumor got some unconventional therapy when an anonymous donor gave her tickets to a Jonas Brothers concert. Jessica Walker has been in Seattle Children's Hospital since January, where she has undergone 20 operations that made her seem less and less like her old self, her parents told Seattle's KING 5 TV. The concert turned out to be a gift for parents, Scott and Cheryl Walker, too. Through the delight visible on Jessica's face, for a few hours, they got to see their little girl again. "Seeing her smile and her eyes just going huge - it's like we're getting a piece of our Jessica back," Cheryl Walker said. It wasn't easy getting Jessica, who's on a ventilator and can no longer walk, speak, or move on her own, to the Tacoma Dome for the performance Sunday night. But it proved well worth the effort. "We really didn't know and think Jessica would ever be able to anything like this - go to the concert. This is huge," Scott Walker, said. After the show, Jessica got a surprise that would have thrilled any tween; the Jonas Brothers invited her backstage to meet. And in what could be seen as an act of bravery, she didn't don a wig when she went to meet her heroes. "She wants the Jonas Brothers to see her for who she is, so she's not wearing a wig," said her mom.

Fun with JONAS words

Man måste verkligen se den här... Och jag håller med, dem använder väldigt
många uttryck i JONAS.
